Do Dems really miss opportunities?

Today’s New York Times contains an article, Some Democrats Are Sensing Missed Opportunities.

Democrats are heading into this year's elections in a position weaker than they had hoped for, party leaders say, stirring concern that they are letting pass an opportunity to exploit what they see as widespread Republican vulnerabilities.
Hmm. Are Dems really letting pass opportunities "to exploit what they see as widespread Republican vulnerabilities?"

They certainly didn’t do that yesterday at Coretta Scott King’s nationally televised memorial service.

I saw some of the tribute. It was hard to recognize, it looked like political opportunism. I could only think about how disrespectful it was to a fine lady and a wonderful human being.

Reminded me of the funeral service for the Mn. senator that was a total travesty, though not nearly as egregious. I thought Mrs. King deserved better.

Oddly, the only two people that didn't use her for political pontification were the Bushes, father and son, I have a deep dislike for George H.W. Bush, but at least he knows how to conduct himself at a funeral, so does his son. Too bad there were so many there willing to prostitute such a wonderful woman. She deserved better. She earned better. She deserved better friends too.
