Duke lacrosse: A major post at Johnsville News

Today Johnsville News posted a detailed analysis of the accusser's claims of robbery and Nifong's treatment of them.

The post, "Duke Case: Poof...the Grubby Thievery Disappears," on first reading looks to be another example of Johnsville's suburb attention to detail and reasoning.

I've noted only one small error so far which I'd have emailed Johnsville about if I knew an address. Johnsville a couple of times refers to statements the accusser made in the N&O's Mar. 25 interview as being made in a Mar. 24 story.

I urge you to give the post a look.

I plan to comment on it further tomorrow.

John my reading of the News & Observer articles indicates that the N&O interviewed Ms. Mangum on Friday, March 24th. Story published on Saturday, March 25th.

The story was published on, Saturday, March 25th, said:
Dancer gives details of ordeal said:

The woman who says she was raped last week by three members of the Duke University lacrosse team thought she would be dancing for five men at a bachelor party, she said Friday.

The N&O article about Ms. Mangum in April, "Mother, dancer, accuser," also said:

The woman has given just one interview, speaking to a News & Observer reporter March 24. Since then, The N&O has spoken to former classmates and neighbors, friends and family members, and has examined several official documents where her name appears.

thanks for the link john and for catching the typo on the date for the N&O article. The Mangum interview from the 24th was published on the 25th.

"Suburb attention to detail?"

Forget it. He's rollin'.

Dear JB,

Everything you say is true as far as I know.

Did you mean your comment to confirm what I said re: JN's dating?

In any case, you provided a well-organized comment.

I look forward to your next one.

Thank you.

Dear Johnsville,

All's well that ends well.

Your error reminded me of the time I posted on one of England's kings. A short while later I received a comment from, whom else, Anonymous: "John, Not to flame you but it's 'reign,’ not 'rain.'"

Well, we're all here to learn, aren't we?

Dear NDlax84,

I've read many of your comments elsewhere in the blogoshere as well as here at JinC.

I don't always agree with what you say. In fact, I often disagree with your comments, but you can sure make your point.

I hope I have time this weekend to put together a post regarding a very positive effect one of your comments has had.

It's the comment you made at the Editor's Blog highlighting some of the nonsensical statements at Nifong's campaign blog.

Your comment led to some very good outcomes.

Dear Momtothree,

Thank you for your comment.

I know you have commented here a number of times; and I've not said anything to you.

Please know that I've taken note of all your comments.

I plan to respond to this, your latest one, in a few days.

It looks like you've become a regular. If that’s the case, you'll read post making clear there are some things directly before me I've got to respond to now.

That's not because they're more important than what you're pointing me to.

It's just better for now, I believe, that I pay attention to what's before me.

In the meantime, I'm betting there'll be skilled and caring bloggers looking where you're pointing.

I'll give you a more detailed response very soon in a post with a title something like: "To the momofthree and 'the family.'"

Thank you to all four of you for your comments.

John

Why did the felony strangulation charges disappear? Nifong already demonstrated how the strangulation occurred, so what happened to the charges?

Hi momtothree,

The Did Kim Rob Precious? angle has already been wonderfully dissected by Johnsville.
