Last evening Duke's faculty Group of 88 sponsored "Shut up and Teach? Faculty and Public Issues." Five of the 88 signatories and a supportive colleague offered what they billed as a "lecture."
I was there for more than an hour and will offer my whine review later today after I complete some travel.
Meanwhile, Citizen journalist Locomotive Breath was there and has a report at Liestoppers Forum. Give it a look. LB's a very good reporter.

Message to KC: You should have titled your post: "The Group of 88 Exposed Again."

I went and read the report. I have to agree about racism and ignorance running rampant at Duke. At least, in that room that night.
These aren't even people, just organisms who operate like single cell organisms. No thought only "irritability" in the scientific sense of the word.
Who are the dunces that passed them all the way through school to collegiate degrees? Let alone doctorates? Now the dunces mistakes are preparing an even less able set of organisms to go forth as they have? In total arrogant ignorance.
Arrogance is hard enough to abide in the accomplished. It is intolerable in the unthinking and ignorant.
