Remember When Europeans Were Going To Support The US?

It would happen once we got rid of that wicked President Bush and elected the “magnetic,” “brilliant,” “transnational,” and “exciting,” Barack Obama, “more popular with Europeans than any American public figure since John Kennedy.”

At least that’s what the liberal/leftist press corps and the trolls kept telling us.

But today we read:

“EU leader condemns US ‘road to hell’”

The Europeans (read that to mean primarily the Germans and the French) are more than happy to take American funds and have Americans defend them or maintain a military presence to serve as a deterrent. However, they feel that while they can take and take they can also bite the hand that feeds them. I think it is due in large part to an inferiority complex that exists on thei saide of the Atlantic that Americans are "rubes" or philistines. Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable and in fact necessary to grovel before the Europeans because they "know best" what life and the universe are all about.
What is even more worrisome is that this attitude has been adopted (of late encouraged by the State Department) by other nations as well. The United States has allowed itself to become the verbal punching bag of the world because we feel that we must apologize for our wealth, ingenuity, and willingness to extend a helping hand to others,
